Sometimes it is not possible to come to a counselling venue- this may be due to unusual work patterns, agoraphobia, carer and/or having dependents, mobility issues, anxiety, stress or other conditions – there are many and varied reasons.
Counselling via the telephone or online (Zoom/WhatsApp/Skype) can enable the freedom to access much needed support, it can bridge many potential barriers that maybe in the way of accessing counselling.Sometimes it can be the first time it has been possible to speak about issues and concerns. The therapeutic connection between counsellor and client whilst engaging in counselling via the telephone or online has been recognized as equally powerful and effective as face to face counselling.
I have been offering counselling and supervision online for a number of years and prior to the covid pandemic. I has been incredibly useful and successful for people to access support in these challenging times.
Telephone and online counselling sessions work in a very similar way as face to face counselling; a supportive, warm, understanding and confidential space for you to be able to explore issues and concerns. I am able to offer short and long term counselling.
We will have an initial telephone or online consultation to begin to explore what has brought you to counselling and what you might hope to gain from the counselling process and it will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and to experience how it might feel to engage in counselling over the telephone or online.
If you feel that I am the counsellor you would like to work with then we will arrange a time that is mutually convenient, in most instances it would be the same time and day each week and this will become your time.
The length of a telephone or online counselling session is 50 minutes.
